I have some inherent bias against stretchy fabric, I don't know why but I have so far refused to make anything stretchy. But weirdly enough, it's all I want to wear right now. Brightly coloured and patterned jersey in "sportswear-influenced pieces", I'm sure Vogue would say. I ran into my old teacher on the street while wearing this, and she commented that only I would wear so many clashing patterns at once. Yeeeah! :)

Topshop PVC top
pants made by me out of fabric from India
K's Birkenstocks

Excuse the ghostly/angry facial expressions, and I'm really pleased with how these photos turned out. They portray my exact mood at the moment! And also a variation on the summer day pyjama look - including some PVC because it's pretty comfy and also, you know, fashun. :)

I've downloaded about 10 photo-editing apps on my phone in the past week and they've inspired me to have more fun playing around with my "real" photos (ie. not just random selfies and insta snaps). Messing around with my fisheye lens converter doesn't hurt either. So here's me tryna catch the evening sun before it disappears behind the hedge. And am I wearing house pyjamas, you might ask? Yes, yes, I basically am, and they are wonderful. :)

Converted

As you may know (or more likely not), I love two things in a lens: a very large aperture and a very wide angle. According to my physicist father, it would be physically very difficult, if even possible, to make a lens with an aperture as big as 1.2 that was also as wide as 10mm. I say technology is always improving. Until the day my dream lens becomes a reality, I am happy to play around with my new 0.2x fisheye converter. On top of my standard lens, it produces classic circular fisheye photos, BUT on my 50mm baby at an aperture of f1.4: BEHOLD THE BEAUTY! That distortion is completely real; the only thing I photoshopped was the black and white. :)

Forever

second hand PVC (?) top
vintage dress reworked into a skirt by my mom
Cheap Monday boots
earrings from the V&A
bag from Fabindia

Yesterday was my birthday, so obviously I went all out sparkly and princess-y. These earrings seem to match everything I wear at the moment which is great because now I just put them on by default. The day also involved unusual birthday activities such as vase smashing (accidentally) and plate shopping (unexpectedly). :)

The cherry blossom has now gone so pictures by the daffodils it is. I'm happy for spring because it's the best season to break out all my jackets! I think jackets are my favourite type of clothing, but skirts are quickly catching up… :)

Every year I swear to myself I will take loads of photos with the blossom but things always conspire against me: rain, no camera, too busy, no cherry trees nearby. But this afternoon I had a dreamy twenty minutes under these blossom trees, twirling amongst the gently falling petals, and shooting upwards into a soft grey sky obscured by pink fluff. :)

Face up

IMG_7063e

Primark sweater painted by me
dress from Singapore
Cheap Monday boots
photographed next to E's work on the mannequin

My favourite thing to paint/draw is people and now I've become weirdly obsessed with prints of faces on clothing. I painted this sweater ages ago but it feels so relevant again. Maybe because I was doing something similar for my last project and am still doing faces for my current project. :)
